INDIA 26/11- THE TERROR STRIKES

As India bounces back from the horrors created by the terror attacks in Mumbai, one is left wondering what is next. I know it is a little late to write about the attack but I held myself back so that I can write with an independent mind free from the pain, anguish and anger that every Indian felt deep in their hearts. India had been reeling under the repeated terrorists attacks for many years. Over the years, the audacity of these merchants of death have increased many fold. But to this day, our government have failed to device ways and strategies to successfully quell the menace of terror. What is required is a total over haul of the entire system and conceiving new strategies to deal with terror.

Indian politicians have failed to deliver. You had a home minister who despite repeated terror attacks could not take any steps to counter the same. Anyway even though Sivaraj Patil was unfortunate to be in the wrong seat in the wrong time, it is undeniable that we have to take new and stringent steps to effectively take on this minance head on.

OPTIONS BEFORE INDIA

Taking out a military strikes against Pakistan should not be considered as an option. What is required is a concerted and coordinated action plan that should involve successful recon by the intelligence and surgical strikes against the terror infrastructure. The terror should be quelled in the root itself, that is the production factory of terror. India is entering the brave new world of Urban Guerrilla warfare. As any military expert would vouch, such operation is the most difficult and toughest in all war scenarios. What is needed is a total revamp of our Intelligence infrastructure and security resources. India has lost some of her bravest souls in this strikes.I bow my head in respect of these brave sons and daughters of our great Bharat. Let their sacrifice not go unpaid. Let us rise above petty political, caste and linguistic differences and let us unite and remember we are all the torch bearers of this great nation that we call India.

Devaluation and Despair: Breaking Down China's Currency Dilemma ( Source- The National Interest / Author- Gordon C. Chang)

Source- Wikimedia Commons / Author- JesseW900 Source- The National Interest Author- Gordon G. Chang On Friday, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC), the Chinese central bank, reversed course and set the renminbi on an upward path. That followed three straight days of devaluation that shook global stock, currency, and commodity markets, sending them downward. Friday’s reversal looks responsible. Nonetheless, the PBOC’s actions last week show policy disarray in the Chinese capital. The net result is that Beijing rattled the world, ruined its reputation for stable management, and did almost nothing to help China’s faltering economy. The daily devaluations follow months of government statements that the central bank would keep the currency stable. Every trading morning, 15 minutes before the 9:30 opening bell, central bank officials announce the day’s reference rate against the U.S. dollar. The renminbi, informally known as the yuan, is then allowed to rise or fall 2...
