My thoughts on the recent Sabarimala Controversy

Credits- Google

Swami Saranam, I just wanted to share a thought or two about the present day crisis at Sabarimala. Sabarimala is the holiest of holy places for us Hindus in Kerala. It is the only place wherein people of all religions are allowed.

But the recent Supreme Court ruling has created a chaotic situation. The Honorable Supreme Court has allowed ladies of all ages entry into the Sabarimala Temple. Formerly the entry was restricted to girls below 10 years and ladies above 50 years. The concept behind this custom is because Lord Ayappa is believed to be a Brahmachari. That is the custom followed from time immemorial.

The recent Supreme Court ruling has created a situation wherein girls and ladies try to get into the temple Sannidhanam (Sanctum Sanctorum) every day challenging the beliefs of devotees. This has been happening for the last three days. It has also created a chaotic situation at a place which like many devotees of Lord Ayappa consider to be one of the holiest places. It seems to be a war of attrition between the government and the devotees. On a daily basis, the government with scant regard for the beliefs of the devotees uses the government machinery to try to bring a lady to the Sannidhanam. This is creating a very sore atmosphere. The matter is now getting out of control. The majority like me feel the government is trying to subvert our beliefs under the guise of obeying the Supreme Court ruling. It reached a crescendo yesterday when a self-professed atheist was taken wearing a police uniform to the Sannidhanam. This cannot go on like this.

We go to the temple for a peace of mind, to pray. Such a place has it's own sanctity which the government is bound to respect. The government is elected by the people, of the people and for the people. This is not a police state. If any of the rulers think so, they are gravely mistaken. The government has to initiate talks with all the stakeholders with an open mind. They cannot act unilaterally. I request the government to de-escalate the situation and approach the matter with an open mind. Hear all those who are concerned before taking any step. Sabarimala is not a place to make a point and enforce your ideology which all may not respect or believe in. May lord Ayappa show you the correct way.

The Indian Navy- Protectors of the Seas

The Strength of the Indian Navy: Navigating Towards Global Maritime Excellence The Indian Navy, a pivotal arm of India's armed forces, plays a crucial role in ensuring maritime security and projecting power in the Indian Ocean region and beyond. With a rich history and a forward-looking strategy, the Indian Navy stands as a testament to India's growing naval prowess and strategic vision. Here’s a closer look at the strength and capabilities that define the Indian Navy today. 1. Historical Legacy and Modernization The Indian Navy's origins trace back to the early 17th century when the Maratha Empire established its naval forces. However, the modern Indian Navy was formally established on October 4, 1950. Over the decades, it has evolved from a modest coastal defense force to a formidable blue-water navy capable of projecting power globally. Modernization has been at the core of its growth, with significant investments in new technologies, ships, submarines, and aircraft. 2...
